Goa Revolution Day marks an important moment in Goa’s freedom movement, when the call for civil liberties and resistance against Portuguese colonial rule gained renewed momentum in Margao on 18 June 1946.

Scope of the Quiz

The quiz will focus on Goa and will cover broad themes such as:

History & Freedom Movement

Goa Revolution Day, Goa’s liberation movement, important personalities, events, and milestones.

Culture, Heritage & Identity

Festivals, traditions, customs, folklore, food, lifestyle, and the unique cultural fabric of Goa.

Geography & Biodiversity

Rivers, beaches, forests, wildlife, agriculture, climate, conservation, and natural landmarks.

Language, Art & Media

Konkani, Marathi, writers, artists, theatre, cinema, music, digital media, and popular culture.

Monuments & Architecture

Forts, churches, temples, heritage homes, public institutions, towns, villages, and significant locations.

Contemporary Goa

Sports, young achievers, education, economy, tourism, governance, current developments, and notable Goans.

Eligibility & Participation

  • The competition is open to students studying in Classes V to X.
  • Entries will be accepted only from schools.
  • Each school or institution may send only one team for the competition.
  • Each team must comprise two students.
  • Participating schools/institutions must ensure that details submitted during registration are accurate.
  • Schools are requested to ensure that participating students are accompanied by a teacher or authorised representative.

Important Instructions

  • Teams must report at the venue on time.
  • Students must carry their school identity cards or an authorisation letter from the school.
  • Teams must bring their own pens for the written preliminary round.
  • Mobile phones, smart watches, internet-enabled devices, notes, or any other external help will not be permitted.
  • Cheating or use of unfair means will result in immediate disqualification.
  • The decision of the organisers and the Quizmaster will be final and binding.

Format of the Quiz

The quiz will be conducted entirely in person, split into two main rounds.

1 Preliminary Written Round

All registered teams will participate in the written preliminary round at the venue. The preliminary round will consist of questions based on Goa, covering the broad themes mentioned above.

The highest-scoring teams from the preliminary round will qualify for the final round.

2 Final Round

The highest-scoring teams from the preliminary round will participate in the final, conducted in an audience-facing format.

The final may include a mix of direct questions, audio-visual questions, buzzer questions, theme-based questions, rapid-fire questions, or any other round format decided by the Quizmaster. Teams must follow the instructions of the Quizmaster at all times.
